Life Captured: Crawlers, chocolate sauce and Sugar Rush

When those cute little Studio Calico kits are waiting for me on my door step it is so exciting.
I may even squeal with delight. Maybe.
The reds and pinks inspired me to start February as I had some Valentine themed pictures.
This was a week of milestones and significant events:
  • The Baby crawled for the first time
  • My little niece Ella was born
  • I became an aunty and Ellis became a cousin for the first time
  • The Baby went underwater twice in a row at Water Babies
  • The Baby tried chocolate for the first time
All very worthy events in my opinion.

I used the wooden letters from my kit to spell out 'crawl'. I avoided them at first as I wasn't sure what adhesive to use but pritt stick seemed to do the trick - just smeared across the washi tape.

I was baffled by the little banners at first too, but then discovered they were quite handy for journalling or embellishing with a cute wood veneer heart. I liked trying it diagonally too.

The pie chart card also posed a problem and I thought at first that I would never use it. I have a background in words, not numbers, and I couldn't see how to encorporate it into a layout.

However, as it was a week of milestones I decided to use each segment to record an event and then I just doodled with hearts. I used the stamp from Copper Mountain - I love this stamp and use it on just about every layout.

I also tried stapling the sequins on and was pleased with the effect this created as it gave it good texture.

The bottom two photos speak for themselves and remind me to use my big camera more often.

What techniques are you loving lately?

  1. looks like you put your kit to good use. The pie chart is fab and you've given me an idea on how to use one on a layout. Love how your pocket pages come together x
